A Filipino American lens. Tools for clients across diaspora communities.
The holiday season can bring up more than celebration. For diaspora clients, it may bring questions about belonging, family expectations, grief, obligation, connection, identity, and choice. Clinicians may be supporting clients who are deciding whether to travel home, navigating complicated family roles, grieving changed traditions, or determining what connection should look like this year.
Using their different Filipino American experiences as a starting point, Ariel Landrum, LMFT, ATR, and Stefanie Bautista, MA, invite participants to stay curious about each client’s cultural context, relationships, values, and choices. The training welcomes clinical work across diaspora communities.
This interactive webinar includes culturally responsive assessment informed by CBT, Narrative Therapy, and ACT; client-led holiday support planning; therapeutic rehearsal for difficult conversations; reflection on clinician countertransference; and a guided postcard art intervention for emotional processing.
